Hire a moving company: Research and book in advance the services of a reliable and experienced company. Compare quotes and read reviews.
Arrange for utility disconnection: Contact your service providers (electricity, water, internet, etc.) to schedule disconnection on your move-in date.
Start the address change process: Start notifying entities such as the bank, work, subscriptions, etc. about your new address.
2 Weeks Before Moving
Finish packing: Take these 2 weeks to completely pack your belongings. Label each box with its contents and destination room.
Coordinate utility disconnections: Make sure that utilities such as electricity, water, gas, and internet are disconnected on your move-in date.
Plan disassembly: If you have large or complex furniture, schedule its disassembly in advance to facilitate transportation.
Prepare a survival kit: Put together a box with essential items that you will need to have on hand during and after the move, such as important documents, tools, clothing, and personal hygiene items.
Moving Day!
Monitor the entire process: Stay present and attentive during loading and unloading to ensure everything is done carefully.
Clearly label boxes: Make sure each box is clearly identified with its contents and destination room.
